Entry deadline: Feb. 10, 2021

MNEA past Executive Director Peggy Cochran and husband Paul are both retired teachers. Both come from families of teachers. Two of their children are teachers in the St. Louis area. Peggy and Paul believe that teaching is the most rewarding career anyone can choose. To encourage people to become teachers, they created a $500 scholarship in support of one of these individuals each year. Applicants must currently be in their freshman, sophomore or junior year at a Missouri college or university.

Educators Rising Scholarship

formerly Future Educators Association

Entry deadline: Feb. 10, 2021

The scholarship is established to encourage and support high school students wishing to become teachers. This is a $500 scholarship. Applicants must be Missouri high school seniors planning to attend college education or pre­-education program to pursue a career in teaching, and a member of Educators Rising
